Thanks Charlie! This forum and the S&W forum were great study tools with your old post comments and others. Sorry for the double tap; I wanted it to be searchable for other students like me in the future. I appreciate your dedication to the type! -

When my brother passed away, he wanted me to have these. He said that he got them from our grandfather when he passed. He said that he believed that they were originals and not replicas. I have inspected them and compared them with pictures of originals online, and they look like originals to me, but any opinions from members here would be appreciated. Would anyone happen to know the history of these type of knives and approximate values? Thanks in advance.... -

@Ranger-1972 I haven’t been able to find any post WWII regulations laying down the official post war patterns of any Army ceremonial belts at all. -

Gear, Go back and look at what Leigh gave you. Grab a pen and paper and write it down. He just gave you a fantastic list of names to run down. You have sooo much info to look at. Run all of it down and no half A--ing it. Get it done and write it down -

Here are some better shots with and without the shell, I’ll try it with a swivel loop and an M2 shell later once I get a chance. I have weathered it a little to hide any obvious screw ups I made, a few cuts around the edge show the paper underneath but I didn’t go overboard. I gave the areas a little wood glue that is heavily watered down, just to seal it a little more. I think it gives the right idea and improves the overall look (I think). I also gave it a very light blow over with Humbral 155 olive drab just to vary the shade a little. Obviously none of this is really seen, but I know it’s there. I might give the rivets a touch up with a darker OD, it will rub off anyway eventually and still won’t really be seen by anyone. How far you go is down to taste.
