Thanks for posting that, Oldcoolc. And it is only $125 plus $10 shipping. Interestingly, the “new and improved” version is missing two letters from the word “paratrooper”. And whenever I see those little “ant soldiers” it just screams ”FAKE”! -

Camillus's screw on pommels were all Navy contracted. Of all the WW2 manufactures of the 1219C2 pattern knives Camillus was the last to receive a contract for the Marine Corps. and by then they had already introduced the cross-pin pommel/tang construction method eventually adapted by the other manufactures. -

One thing, Western wasn't making any sheaths themselves until after the War was over and they incorporated a leather shop into their operation in 1954. Until then all sheaths were subcontracted. -

Yes, that's the one! 😊 If I recall correctly this was the only one at the show and I think I saw it a few times over the years? I'll have to go through my (analog) photo's. Such a great show, really a shame how it was run into the ground in only a few years... -

Purchased what appears to be an almost untouched SC 03A3 the other day here Down Under. Whilst it is OG cartouched on the butt (nd the other cartouches are FJA and Circle P), everything appears to be correct SC / specific contractor, so probably just an inspect, stamp, back into store or abroad in the MAP. Question - with the 03A3 seemingly seeing limited WW2 theatre use, and more likely used in MAP recipient countries, or even kept in US strategic reserves, what is the usually encountered sling on these? I am NOT particularly seeing an M1907 Knox on it realistically (though have a couple minty mid-WW2 ones I could put on), but more likely an M1 sling. It has a Gotham sight cover on it, and a WW2 yellow plastic oiler. Appreciate the insight here. Happy to put either sling type on it, as I have both types on hand (including even some original M1917 Kerrs, but that's stretching the plausibility friendship somewhat :) ) Will upload pics when I have it all accessorized out. -

I had that exact map at one time but unmarked and new. It came from a Marine that was on Iwo after the battle and it was given to him unused. He put it away and I got it from the estate. Very cool map. -
