Howdy! Born/raised Texan, stuck now in Virginia.  Prior Army combat tanker (M60A3, M1A1, ’86-’94) Quite a few old MN 91/30s, Dragoons, M44 Carbines, SKS, Yugo M54 8mm, some moderns, some hand guns, and a few newly acquired oldies that I’m slowly learning are not what they were said to be.

You're welcome Hayden.  Glad to help.  I'm sure you know NARA hasn't finished scanning in and posting Morning Reports online for 1945 yet, so there will be more reports of Egedius in the future.  Egedius's MOS in the Morning Reports was 0140 which was a "Radar Officer".  I believe Radar Officer's like Egedius were non-flying officers which is why you won't find an Air Medal or DFC on him in NARA's records.  I noticed on one of the Morning Reports "APO 883" which is Karachi, India where he went first after going overseas.  Then on 23 Dec 1944 he went to Dinjan, India, APO 487.

Greetings all,   Does anyone know where to source an original (or repro) carton for grenade fuzes?  I had one years ago that had several M205 fuzes, but I think it may have gotten thrown away or otherwise lost in the last move.  I have been making/selling a lot of repro M10 fuzes to my reenactor buddies, and I thought one of those cartons would be great to display them in.  My apologies for stealing the picture from another post on here, but it was the only one I could find.  Post war or unmarked is fine.  I appreciate any help!   JQMD

Thank you very much! I found the newspaper clipping but had to stop searching because of work. I'm very thankful you were able to find these other documents and compile them into files so I can print them. The search still continues for more information but this is great to read! The Morning Reports appear stateside so I'll have to see if I can locate other sites or request his records for more. It does appear he went overseas, as he has two overseas bars on his sleeve which are also bullion.    Thanks, Hayden

I wonder if one of these exists in a warehouse or collection somewhere.

I got this at a used clothing shop.  It’s dirty and doesn’t seem to be washed.  Bits of tree bark in a pocket still.
