Really fantastic that the EM dress cords are there. Would love to see more photos of the hat, which is very rare.

I have a grouping to a chaplain who served in the airborne during WWII.   He was not jump qualified.

How many paratrooper Chaplains were there during WWII and how many of these jump wings are for sale these days? They are extremely rare so what are the odds Chaplain jump wings are in fact original??

I think I've posted this in the correct forum. Please move if it there is a more appropriate area.   I  stumbled across this musette bag on ebay this evening. The price was right, and I scooped it up since it filled a hole in my collection. I am trying to figure out the origin and meaning of the white circle painted on it and if Gerhart served on Okinawa or if this bag was associated with a previous landing. I know there are a few threads about the painted circles apparently associated with shore parties  on equipment/gear in the Pacific Theater. Do I have a legitimate connection to this practice? I do not have the bag in hand yet, but the paint looks period to my eyes.   Charles J Gerhart (33115848)  listed as a patient on board the USS Tyron according to its October 31, 1944 muster roll. Apparently he was a member of the 1118th Engineer Combat Group, but I haven't been able to uncover much about Gerhart's service or much about the 1118th Engineer Combat Group other than the fact that the 1118th was comprised of the 1118th Headquarters Company, 132nd, 233rd, and 242nd Engineer Combat Battalions and were attached to the 77th Infantry Division during the battle of Okinawa...apparently landing on IE Shima and serving as the 77th Infantry Divisions shore party beginning on April 17, 1945.    I was able to find a unit history for the 233rd Engineer Combat Battalion which seems to have been associated with the 1118th throughout their course of service. Although Gerhart isn't listen on its rolls, it does show that they served as the shore party for the 307th Infantry Regiment on Guam (July 1944) and Leyte (November 1944).   Thanks   Gerhart.pdf

Hello I have a question! Many 1960s US-Vietnam uniforms had colored patches! Many were sewn on with white thread. What was the type of thread used for this, please?

If I remember right the seller also had a variety of wings with different religious symbols. I'm no expert on wings but these are definitely strange…

looks like a PX purchase type of item.
