Originally buried at Fort Mojave, Arizona. ----- Multiple people died in and around Fort Mohave in his death year, spread out in a way indicating contagion as one of the causes "The Arizona Miner" out of Prescott, AZ announced his death, saying the distant cause was unknown, but the immediate cause was heart disease. Just three years earlier, the 1870 Census showed him still alive and working at Camp Mohave,living near the garrison, while Arizona was still a territory, not yet a state. He considered himself a laborer, said he was age 30, born NY. (That is the only source for his birth place and year, making it 1839-1840.)

Gravesite Details The tombstone is in very bad condition. It has been identified based on the location.
