This book shows a few pictures of guys using bandoliers instead of ammo pouches. One is on the back cover. -

Here's another "Stable Made" aka: "DogHead" coined by the Johnson Bros. -

Great piece. I could count the CRYE pieces I have found over the years on one finger. Did find a Navy/Seal Patagonia piece the other day. I was stoked. -

And the patch. Honestly, this is the first time observing the PQMDs product for this unit specific Shoulder Insignia. What's normally encountered are what I like to call the "stable made" First Cavalry Division Shoulder Insignia as shown in the left that has a distinctively lighter colored blue Bend. -

The 12th Cavalry Regiment Distinctive Insignia are hallmarked by Bailey, Bank & Biddle Company (BB&B Bronze). They are clearly illustrated in BB&B Company products catalog as item 29396 - Regimental Coat of Arms, 12th Cavalry. -

Detail pixs of the coats insignia. The collar brass indicating 12th Cavalry Regiment and a rather unique two piece Type II Discs that wasn't circulating as readily as those singular stamped types like the U.S. 12 disc. -

Here's a total unrelated 1st Cavalry Division, 1st Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Regiment (12th Cavalry Regiment) uniform that I just plucked out of storage. Together with the colorized studio photo make for a great display. -

Yes, that is correct, Doyler. I should have been more specific-when I was wondering about the Marine Corps I was thinking more of an aviation support type unit-although most of those abbreviations start with the letter "M" like MABS, MACTU, MACS, MWSG, MWSS, MAMS, MASS, MWCS, WERS, TACC, etc. -

It been a while since I've added anything meaningful to my thread so here's some stuff to share. The colorized portrait isn't one of those digital enhanced jobbies of today's technology but a true photography artisan that actually tinted the former B&W studio portrait of this 12th Cavalry HQ Troop trooper. Yes, this was one of two colorized images of the same solidier that I illustrated my ASMIC article with. I managed to make a negotiatable trade with Mitch for the two portrait photos.
