Developed, scanned and processed the photos from the event at Bergh Castle, last weekend. Here's a couple taken with a Leica IIIc from 1940, with a pre-war short tele-lens : Alternative uses for Jeep wing mirrors #18 ....shaving mirror. Interesting to note that the 'castle' had been restored just before the war, but got shot up pretty badly during. It was again restored after. And it is currently undergoing much-needed renovations. -

Here's one I've had for 25 or so years: The galvanizing is very pronounced on this one. The medical caduceus is in the upper left hand corner. This one was never used. Also an original copy of instructions that came with it below. The semi-clear material for the light to pass thru is called Eisenglass, and is quite fragile. I made a small "box" from cardboard to protect mine from being broken, I agree, yours is probably a "commercial" item, but is still the real deal and may have been used later or during the war anyway. Thanks for showing this. Steve -

I have had this laying around for a long time and finally decided to see if I could find out the time period. The case is felt line leather. The cloth sword bag has the N.S. Meyer label sewn in. The scabbard is unmarked. Any help in establishing a basic time frame would be greatly appreciated. -

Posting the exact lettering engraved would be most helpful. The SA may mean self arming….
