As seen in the post-war home of Vard Beecher, owner of firm during WWII making optics, large castings, machine tools. Drafting machines and more in San Diego known as Vard, Inc. Pretty sure for Naval vessels and/or coastal artillery control. Do you know anything about the scope or mount? -

Hello, I was offered this badge, it’s not cheap, the Adj General was one of the founders of the Wisconsin National Guard and an Iron Brigade Civil war officer. While I love it not really sure how to do a valuation, would anyone be able to help me with that? Thanks ps looks gold but no idea if plated or solid -

Over the years I have refined and redirected my focus as I have matured as a collector and had the means to buy more of what I want as well as those with historic value and significance. I started out as a youngster collecting everything I could, every medal from everywhere. I finally landed on US WW II and prior decorations, Pre WWI medals and bars, early campaigns, Lifesaving medals, Dewey and Sampson + Soviet orders, Italian and Vatican orders, British Orders, and some European kingdom orders... Fast forward to now..,sold off much of the collection and focused on US decorations, attributed bars and groups (with decorations), Dewey, Lifesaving Medals, attributed custom ribbon sets, US gold marksman badges, Soviet Hero/Labor Stars and Lenin, Italian, Vatican, and British orders. Sounds like a lot but they are in small quantities, so it is easy to manage. I've found that when I have needed to liquidate for unforeseen reasons, I refocus to areas that hold more long-term value YOY. I chose gold because it is shiny and cool as a collector, but also has wealthy protection for my family; so, I get to collect and enjoy the hobby with benefit to my family and hopefully my kids will get into it and can carry on the legacy. -

Here are pictures of the hatchet carrier in question from eBay. My issue with this piece if the Month-Year date code. I do not think RIA ever used anything other than the year when they made web gear prior to 1918 and then only on a very limited number of pieces. That said, it looks very well made, but the fabric color and date bother me. -

That's a great grouping, some pictures/scans of that 16th Constabulary baseball team line-up book would be a welcome contribution to the "Baseball in the Armed Forces" thread. https://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/262382-baseball-in-the-armed-forces/ -

Got this from a local shop. I am having a tough time finding the era range. I think the engraving looks like 1916. But could be a weird 1946. Is this a pre ww1 or a ww2 style souvenir ring? -
