What a marvel these gloves, a true classic, and what a shape!! Fabolous indeed. I gave away my very small collection of Cavalry gloves almost four years ago, prior to deciding once and for all that a full-size Sergeant from around 1891 - 92 would have been feasible, after all... so, no gloves being left. Luckily I found out a very good pair, much likely privately purchased from civilian sources, that follow the basic features of typical riding gloves. They and the rest (12 items in all) are awaiting for a mannequinn that till now didn't surface out yet, due to some precise reasons - hoping being able to do the thing shortly, given the amount of time and efforts I've put into the project through the years. All the stuff is original, with the two items not military-issued being the said gloves and a Native-made knife sheat. -

Hello, Has anyone an idea of what sort of date this badge would date from-to? It's 10K Gold Filled by Vanguard V-21-N. I know the hallmark predates the badge and that the first issue badges were (apparently) two piece construction. Does being 'die struck' help with an approximate date? Thanks Billyh -

For those in the know, does the action seem to be correct here? The op rod is not connected internally but I think in reality it should close on its own and stay there once it is pulled back. But I’ll deal with that (or not) later. Thanks for any sage wisdom. mikie -

Ok, I don’t think this is what is meant by “Garand thumb”, but I’ll wear the scar in honor of my carelessness. Thankfully the bleeding phase seems to be over. I think I lost more from it than I do with one of my Red Cross blood donations. Thumb works fine, just a little stiff. So thankfully the Good Lord was looking out for me. Be careful with power tools, everyone! mikie -
