Nice research on the Older signature.   I was not aware that LASC judge Older, who presided over the 10 month long  Manson murders  trial (longest in US history at the time) was also the 3rd highest scoring ace in the Flying Tigers.  Too bad Judge Older couldn't preside over another high publicity LA multiple homicide trial 30 years ago.

The annual FALL military vehicle event that has been produced by the Military Vehicle Collectors of California in North-Central California since 1987 is moving back to the Sacramento-San Joaquin Rivers Delta region this September. This does not relate to the big April show which is staying in Plymouth. The new venue Lighthouse Resort & Marina near Isleton, California. This is between Rio Vista and Tower Park/Jellystone Park, where our Spring and Fall events were for many years. Our discounted rates are good all week. Sunday is a go home day, not a show day. This is a non-judged show for ex-military vehicles and a parts and military collectibles buying and selling event. It is camping oriented with some people commuting from lodging or home. Grassy, back in sites, most have much shade, and many are very large. Cabins too although as of now there is a wait list for cabins. Tents and RVs may camp side by side and all tenters will have power and water!   Free admission and visitor parking. No vendor fee but all sellers must rent a cabin or campsite. Sites are large, standard ones up to 27' wide x 57' deep. Double wides approximately 55' x 57' are the same price. Choose this only if you need the width. All grass, no paved or hardpan RV parking pad. Tent pins are OK. Many sites have water and power but no sewer. One Area has full utilities. RVs can also dump by the office when exiting or may back into any unused full utility site to dump.   All ex-military vehicles welcome, any condition or nation of service. Bring your extra military collectibles and move them to a new caretaker.   We have a reservation form that is mandatory to get a site in our discounted block. Our coordinator, MVCC member JoAnn, can help you choose one. There are many details on our website, www.MVCCNews.net, including a campground map showing our current block, and a satellite map showing where the shade is. Please book by June 19 if possible. After that, the Lighthouse people can place non-event campers within “our” area. Right now we have exclusive access to all sites in our block. It could be all us!   There is also a Facebook Group for this event: #CampDelta2MilitaryVehicleShowandSwapMeet

I believe this is a post war uniform judging by the artificial silk lining fabric and blue bordered chevrons

I was thinking the same thing unless the lower part of the "B" faded, until I looked and there was a George "Pappy" Paxton in the AVG.  Still a fantastic piece.     OD

. Hello Johan,    thank you for the report you made of the DUKW accident,  sadly I do feel that DUKW's have the most frequent accidents amongst WWII vehicle collectors, they are so large, cumbersome and slow, also it's not a vehicle that modern drivers are expecting to see on the road these days.  I drive full time now with headlights on night and day as well, they were painted O.D to hide them from people and that's what they are still doing hiding from people especially along shaded tree lined roads, lets be careful out there.    Norman D. Real, reproduction? Not what I normally collect, but was in a collection I bought. Would love for it to be real, but I know copies abound. Does smell like an old piece of gear. Thanks in advance!

I see George "Pappy" Paxton. I don't see Pappy Boyington.

I believe a pistol and carbine/thompson would be more appropriate? Not sure.    Wade
