I picked up this named Ike jacket today for what I think was a reasonable price. I often look through FB but rarely see anything worthwhile or things that are ridiculously priced. Comments are welcome! -

I use a pair of 1960's US Air Force Artic Boots, a pair of WWII USN water proof coveralls and my Father-In-Laws WWII A-9 Jacket when I do my winter snow shoveling and use my snow blower. They keep me dry and warm. -

I use a lot of military surplus for camping, which I do a lot. I go to the Boundary Waters in northern Minnesota at least twice a year. I also use military camo for hunting. Wade -

Thanks to Aznation I was able to find out that the soldier was in the 103rd ID and wounded soon after they arrived in France, November 1944. -

I use my WPG roughouts all the time. Mostly for hiking and dirt bike riding. The leather quality is pretty decent and it wears very similar to originals. The rubber soul is very soft though and has worn down very quickly. I have a set zig Type 2’s and German low boots I also wear frequently. Plus some junk boots I wear in the summer for snake season. The leather has stopped me from getting bit twice. Both by bull snakes thankfully haven’t had to put them to the test against rattlesnakes. -

@Misfit 45 and @Rhscott Thank you so much for the useful information. It has the A of the British markings very close to the hilt, about 7 mm below the U.S (the dot after the S is not visible). In looking for the British markings, I noticed a 23 under the eagle - the stamp of the inspector I think? And, the eagle has a tongue - a strange extra detail in such a small stamp. Was the eagle used for other things?
