This sure looks like Steampunk and nothing military... Allan -

You may find a name inside the helmet or on another piece of equipment. Here is a list of CO’s. -

One look at the back and it would tell you that they are modern manufactured. I've purposely left the backs to look so super modern, with very bright white tight bobbin thread. OR I also use black bobbin thread where almost the entire reverse is black, there is no mistaking the back as original unless you're totally clueless... and those sorts of collectors would be fooled by anything made in China. It really is only the front that look really tasty. -

Impressive Matt! Well done, even photos of him. Love the one with the red airborne tab over the AAF patch. -

Funny memory. Dad bought me some Chuck Taylors in the early 80s when I joined the jr varsity basketball team. The latest all-leather high tops were now out and squeaking away on all the "real" players. As I would run the length of the court to run a play I would slide like I was on marbles! All the wiping of dust, sticky spray, and other tricks did nothing. I could actually hear onlookers laughing at my Keystone Cop-type movements. While I was never really gifted in basketball anyway, that season, as a self-conscious teenager was an embarrassing and frustrating time - just because of the shoes. Have a couple pairs of low tops now but seldom wear them - just not comfortable. Dave -

I ended up getting out bid at the very end of the auction. Nobody else was bidding until the very end. I will keep my eye out for others. Thank you for all of your help. It was interesting.
