Pretty good video. Thanks for posting this. i got infatuated with The Alamo as a kid, watching Duke’s movie and reading Lon Tinkle’s “13 Days To Glory”. Since then I’ve read most everything I could get my hands on! it’s a big “Rabbit Hole” if you start exploring the myths and legends surrounding the battle!😀 I never bought into the Louis “Moses” Rose story because it only came to light 40 years later and in thiird hand testimony from a fellow named William Zuber. (IIRC) but the Texas Land Office did award land titles based on Moses’ word that “this man was there before I left”! Bowie, Travis, and Crockett have become larger than life. There’s as much “legend” as there is known facts! Even more so in Bowie’s case!😀 I’ve been through Texas a few times driving truck, but never had an opportunity to get “boots on the ground”, unfortunately. it’s definitely on my bucket list. BTW, the book by Wm C Davis titled “Three Roads to the Alamo” is a great place to start if you haven’t read it. PTRN -

I do have a GCM group to one of the USS Quail Sailors that made it to Australia. Some of the crew used a large wooden boat and made a home run. In May 1942, after the Quail (AM-15) was scuttled during the fall of Corregidor in the Philippines, 18 of her crew—commanded by Lt. Cmdr. John H. Morrill—fled in a 36-foot Navy motor launch. They navigated over 2,000 miles of Japanese-controlled ocean, arriving safely in Darwin, Australia, 29 days later Kurt -
