What an odd find, great piece and nice referb.

About a Spitfire Reconnaissance pilot.   THE COCKLESHELL HEROES (1955) starring Trevor Howard and José Ferrer.   DARBY’S RANGERS (1958) starring James Gardner, Jack Warden and Stuart Whitman.   DANGER UXB (1979 miniseries) starring Anthony Andrews about bomb disposal in war torn England.  

Now that is pure luck, well done. 

It was a yard decoration until last weekend. Now cleaned up and repainted. Some assembly is left to do. It's dated 1942 on most of the parts.

I've owned a pair of end caps for 25 years, but today I found the center roll up section that had been stored in a footlocker for decades in a garage.

Never seen marines with half inch nets, interesting.

About former German soldiers disarming Allied bombs in postwar Berlin.   ANZACS (1985 mini series) starring Paul Hogan and Jon Blake. Fictional account of the 8th Battalion AIF in WW I.   THE WOODEN HORSE (1950) starring Leo Genn, David Tomlinson and Anthony Steel. POW escape from Stalag Luft III.   HALLS OF MONTEZUMA (1951) starring Richard Widmark, Jack Palance, Robert Wagner and Richard Boone. Fictional account of US Marines fighting on a Japanese held Island.

Gear fanatic I used Rust-Oleum Gun Metal Gray. Good paint. Paint and steel wool it then paint again then rub it down with a soft cloth.
