The USNS Kula Gulf T-AKV-8 originally the WW2 escort carrier CVE-108. This ship was transferred to the Military Sealift Transport Service in 1965 and used to ferry aircraft to Vietnam. The Kula Gulf ferried aircraft to and from Vietnam until 1969, it was then stricken from the Navy in 1970. Scrapped in 1971. -

Not likely; and then in another branch. I’m thinking that they may be two different men. Where did you find the tag? The Pvt above was born in PA in 1897, so he wasn’t serving during 1900-10. -
