Hi Siamundo Here is a white Maltese cross 17th Inf, image is from a good friends collection. There is a possible suggestion that the colours Red, White and Blue(?),might be related to the battalion colours, again that is only a sugestion. Anyway thanks for posting Phill -

Although they did look it in my initial photos, none of tgese badges are subdued. The CMB especially, just has a deep, uniform tarnish. All the badges are just tarnished silver. -

I have accumulated Mr. Cole’s books 2, 3, & 4. But, I am having trouble finding out the name of the original book (book 1). Is the book in the photo the first in the series please? I’m hoping to find a decent condition book 1 and then at some point HOPEFULLY find an affordable “The Best Of” book. -

The leather blanket roll strap is an infantry item. It's not used with the saddle at all. -

Did also have a Anvis mount come in around the same time but I also had to paint the visor cover before I did that. But now everything but the boom assembly is on and functional and I need to either find a small cable tie since I want to add a lip light or forget that and just use velcro between the mic and the light. -

To add to the above information: Based on the morning reports provided above, it looks like he was in the Army Specialized Training Program at the University of Oregon, before he was pulled from that program (the ASTP was being greatly reduced at that time in order to provide infantryman and to fill other Army manpower shortages). Info on the ATSP: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Army_Specialized_Training_Program Note: It appears he shared a service number, 15306727, with another ATSP student soldier, Lewis C. Hullinger, who was at Ohio State University until being discharged during Mar 44. Based on the information provided above, it would seems he left for the ETO at some point after July 44, and ended up at (a) 9th Army field hospital(s). As best I can tell, there were at least two field hospitals associated with the 9th Army: the 45th and 67th. Dan
