Companies B and D, 1-3 Infantry (TOG) had deployments to Djibouti. In 2009-2010, Company C deployed to Iraq. -

Interesting posts. I think though, the VFW at best is named after the WW2 S Sgt’s uncle. His obituary listed in post 16 above states that his father’s name was Glenn Webster. More than likely the brother of Herbert L Webster (the fallen soldier from WW1). Since the WW2 airman was born two years after the Uncle’s death, it would make sense that his father Glenn Webster would have named his Son after his late brother Herbert L Webster. -

I’d submit that the organization that came to be called I Field Force either wore no patch or it wore the MACV patch before its own insignia was approved. This chart from the US official history monograph about command and control in Vietnam shows the unit as directly under MACV and not subordinate to USARV. -
