Well here it is. All parts I planned on buying for this build are now assembled. there are still some tweaking I can do. And someday if I strike gold in the back yard, I’d like to get some more of the internal parts. I’m thrilled that it’s “done”, but at the same time totally depressed. We have some family events coming up soon, so time and $ for a new project won’t happen for a while. Mikie -

Thanks. I spilled more than enough last week trying to drill out the plugged firing pin hole. -

I have an old Marbles Ideal with 5 1/2" blade 10" overall length, with stag pommel, leather stacked handle with 6 red nylon and 13 brass spacers, brass half guard and Hallmark reads made by W.L. Marbles Gladstone MI in 2 lines using small block letters. I'm thinking it's an Ideal made at his factory circa. 1899-1901 I'm a historian but, not a expert with Marble's knives and I'm having difficulty finding anything close that matches this knife and was wondering if someone here might have more information about the history as I've hit a dead end it seems. -

My last public battle was a bit sketchy like that. My club only uses and allows the crimped ones because there’s nearly no risk. But still some first timer not apart of the group brought his paper tipped one and it hit me in the hand because we were in a small space For a Public battle, then I had trouble reloading by garand because my hand was bleeding. Thank god he couldn’t reload his weapon fast enough otherwise he would’ve got someone else. He was later kicked out of the event.still have the scar to. In the end the risks are there, but it seldom happens. This was one of my first live fire events to so spooked me a bit.
