I appreciate you posting this one. It helps us all to keep an eye on the "Vintage Military Lighter Market". Excellent work!

Already jealous just looking at that picture. I go to yardsales in my area frequently and can’t find anything good. Best I’ve found is some commemorative plaques from the 60’s but nothing special. I try and I try and nothing pops up. I’ve always had my best luck in tips of places and homes that had stuff.

Won this in an auction. Many different variations,  and love the sterling 90th necklace.  Marked on the reverse 925. Unfortunately moths have had their fun on some of the patches.

Recently one of my firework collector contacts who is a gunsmith has been deactivating these for me to latest home office specification . Still retains original loads but all powder content and primers have been dealt with and weight made up with sand. Small hole drilled into primer as visual to being deactivated. It was some of the trapshooting cartridges that have gone into the Air Gunners exhibition at Elvington. The solid ball were designed as a way of beefing up the effect of a shotgun at close range, they contained a 16 guage single ball with extra wadding to allow for good pressure behind the ball whilst not damaging the barrel of the shotgun. Issued to the Home Guard, Many years ago I had a box with instructions that read For use against low flying enemy planes and enemy parachutists. All of these came from the gunsmith after he had done what was required to them. The Eley Rocket are a tracer version to help the shooter see where their shot has gone , specially designed by Eley to help trainee gunners learn how to lead a target.

Yes, it is an odd duck that no one can explain. I have one just like it and they are fairly scarce. I have seen bad ones, but this one seems like the legitimate Meyer. John
