Not sure where this is, France or Italy, does show that different styles of Medical Helmet marking could be seen in the same unit. -

Hi bn1961 and Guest wm727: The "Walt Mt Joy" name on the sheath I believe refers to my Dad--Walter Mountjoy--who served on LST 501. My Dad passed in 1985, but I do remember him talking about his buddy "Messics" who served on the ship with him. My Dad was one if not the oldest guy on the ship at 26-years old. Last thing, I have his US Navy ka-bar knife and sheath just like the one pictured in this thread. If you'd like to discuss, please feel free to contact me. -

I recently purchased this oxygen mask from a surplus store and it is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It has a green silicone mask with seems to be from a MBU-12/P or MBU-14/P and has a circular stamp with the numbers 71, 72, and 73. I used AI to see if it could find anything and it was stumped. However from all the research I’ve done my guess is that it may possibly be a test model or pre production prototype of some kind? Its construction is somewhat crude in some areas but the plastic shell seems to be manufactured and looks very professionally assembled. It holds a seal. Additionally the surplus store I purchased this from is very close to Wright Patterson AFB which may explain it being possibly a test model. I would love to have this piece identified because it really is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. -

Someone cut the patch off a uniform, an OD Shirt by the looks of it looks machine sewn on, or very very neat even stitching by hand. Guess they didn't want to damage the patch's border in tying to remove it, probably just thinking about pulling and tearing it off, which will indeed damage these delicate wool borders. However the patch could of been removed by undoing the bobbin thread inside shoulder area, -

These three look better but the last one as other claimed already does have the uncanny look of a stylized parachute. Hell it even kind of looks like those WWII Chinese OSS wings I've seen before. The judge is out on these. -

This guy's brother was in the 347th FG- 339th FS and his dad was in the 2nd Division 2nd Supply Train during WW1. Just an added FYI!!
