More about Poole Harbour.   A few years ago I posted a photo of a gravestone in Lymington town cemetery, it featured a gravestone dedicated to two Australian brothers that probably served at the Australian 210 Squadron flying PBY Catalina's out of Poole Harbour, which gave them a love of the local area and a wish to be buried here.  So here's the possible connection between the squadron, Catalina's and the headstone.          Norman D. The side button is a Streamlight Sidewinder Helmet Mount, for a flashlight. While the helmet uses a multicam cover and matching mount, the chinstrap and pads are an older UCP model. There were tons of these left over when the army switched camo, so they kept getting issued. I have seen paracord loops in the rear used to hold the helmet band in place many times, likely these ones purpose. 

The chinstraps are not USN.

. Google Translation    I found this ZIPPO lighter a few years ago at a garage sale. It's a 1942 model, not a 42/43 model. It has a 4-section hinge and the insert weld is welded on the left. The chimney has 7 holes on each side. There's no markings on the insert. There's a Corps of Engineers collar badge and another US collar badge on the other side. I have a few ZIPPO lighters, but this one is by far my favorite.   regards lewis
