You guys ever heard of the 1902 nickel plated scabbard being a replacement scabbard for these swords? I do see some for sale with these scabbards. -

Hi- Question pertaining to the USGI Nickeled Brass Oilers commonly used with the M-1917, M-1903 and M1 Rifle's. I recently picked up one of these in the shorter 4.25" length and was wondering if these were made prior to, same time or later than the more common full-length 6" type. -

No. If you previously had the C-E Maintenance badge, you ended up wearing the Air Force Maintenance badge. It's the same badge aircraft mechanics wear. -

That’s very interesting. I was just reading about the XXII corps patch used for the II Field Force. I’m leaning towards the US Army Vietnam patch as the precursor to the I Field Force. Thank you! -

Likely prior to 1843. It is Benedict & Burnham. They dated 1834-43. In 1843 they incorporated to Benedict & Burnham Mfg. Co., and that backmark is reported as "B & B. M. G. Co/Waterbury". And as you said, in 1849 the button division became Waterbury Button Co. -

. Hi Peiter, In the February 1944 TM9-803 manual the rear ' bumperette ' is referred to as a rear bumper when fixing the Jeep down to a railway flat car, the word bumperette Is possibly a plural of the word bumper as there are two of them on the rear of a Jeep. It has become the standard word for describing one of the small bumpers on the rear of a Jeep, rather than rear-bumper. It is actually used on American motor vehicles of the 40's, 50's, 60's etc as shown in this short video describing ' bumperettes ' Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, 09 May 2O26. ..
