. Hi Kevin,    Thanks, please don't take this as a negative rant at your efforts to help, I do appreciate all and any input.   I hope this explains my reasoning on ensuring we find the correct definition of factory condition.  I have seen that piece on the internet BUT I still don't know if that IS positive proof.  I wish to find / see the finish on unused pieces,  as we all know Jeeps left the factory in ' one ' colour BUT were sprayed again all over O.D. at unit level including the axe and shovel prior to D-Day . . . . .    M-1 helmets left the factory in one colour with cork chips to disrupt the light reflection,  BUT how many times were helmets ' reconditioned ' during service life.  We can and do find unissued helmets which gives us / shows us the factory finish and that's what a lot of collectors desire in their collection.     Here's a US Jerrycan in what appears to be original factory finish colour, however once you see the repair section at the top of the can then it's obvious that this is no longer a factory finish can.         Norman D. A genuine piece of Martin Steel’s WWII PSP, on display at the North Central Ohio Industrial Museum, still shows some of its original Army olive green paint after more than 75 years   Found this quote against a picture in this article   https://richlandcountyhistory.com/2021/06/22/how-mansfields-steel-shaped-the-front-lines-of-battle-1942/

Apologies if this has been listed before. Doesn't help with the colour but shows how it was assembled.

Before I moved into militaria I used to design and install complete turn key paint plants, conveyors, booth, ovens and the spray equipment or dipping tanks. Looking at how the mats are hung on the conveyor would suggest they were being dipped and not spray painted as hung that way it would be impossible to access all the panel to spray it. As to what the finish is I can't tell from the picture and may well not be paint in the tanks.

Recently found these C-2A(R) COD passenger seats and decided to get them. These are definitely used and slightly abused😁. These were used in VAW-120 on aircraft side # 631. VAW-120 is the East Coast training squadron for the E-2s and C-2s, they are stationed at NAS Norfolk. I took the seats apart and cleaned them up and am pleased with the results. I don’t plan on painting them, I like the usage wear.

Most were 34 thru 38 I would guess--- In less you were in the National Guard for years or a lifer. The largest World War Two uniform  4 pockets I saw was a size 48 dated 1941. The bad part about it was the moths had live there for years !
