Purchased what appears to be an almost untouched SC 03A3 the other day here Down Under. Whilst it is OG cartouched on the butt (nd the other cartouches are FJA and Circle P), everything appears to be correct SC / specific contractor, so probably just an inspect, stamp, back into store or abroad in the MAP. Question - with the 03A3 seemingly seeing limited WW2 theatre use, and more likely used in MAP recipient countries, or even kept in US strategic reserves, what is the usually encountered sling on these? I am NOT particularly seeing an M1907 Knox on it realistically (though have a couple minty mid-WW2 ones I could put on), but more likely an M1 sling. It has a Gotham sight cover on it, and a WW2 yellow plastic oiler. Appreciate the insight here. Happy to put either sling type on it, as I have both types on hand (including even some original M1917 Kerrs, but that's stretching the plausibility friendship somewhat :) ) Will upload pics when I have it all accessorized out.

I had that exact map at one time but unmarked and new.  It came from a Marine that was on Iwo after the battle and it was given to him unused.  He put it away and I got it from the estate.  Very cool map.

This may be the one you recall, David... Took this photo of a BARV at Beltring's War&Peace Show  back in July 2002

I don't have much info to go on, other than my late grandmother had told me that her sister was dating someone in the military before she had passed away at the age of 21 in 1913. Assuming this large pinback EGA was given to her along with a small sweetheart necklace that I also have, but there's also the possibility these belonged to a different family member. Can anyone help?

Here's a example of what were talking about, this a White NAME Tape on a shirt of the Ryukyus Command early to mid 60s, a Hand Guided Sewing machine job, Letters fluctuate in appearance, in this case slightly, though there are examples of the Letters nice and neat and Uniform throughout using the machines of the day.   Could be a local PX made one, where the tailors are locals most of the times out there in the Far East, or a Civilian off post Okinawa Tailor job.

Okay — I’ve read all the post about the screaming eagle patches. I got these at an auction— multigenerational military family. I know for sure one individual went to WWII, his son was a cadet in Easy Company after World War II (during the 1950s), both went to Korea to serve. These particular patches were in a basement for about 50 years, according to the auction company. This individual also had Apollo mission patches that appear to have been on some type of board. I found 2 All American patches — one appears to have come off a uniform based on the threads.    Knowing this information — could you please help me determine how to talk about these patches? Would you call them repos? I know they made repos but Im wondering if they’re real based on the family. There appear to be two different types of screaming eagle patches.
