. . hi mikie,   on the basis of ' if you snooze you lose ' you posted your question whilst I was asleep over here in Europe, and forum member yellowhammer beat me to the answer.  I have several patriotic wartime ones in my collection, well  ' somewhere ' in my collection, similar to the one in the centre of the pile with ' V ' for Victory  on it.   Good luck if you return and find them, hopefully you could just hunt out the patriotic ones in there.   Norman D. Very lucky to have acquired this beautiful stiletto, it’s even got a remnant of the Ricasso etching. My other example has a cracked handle and knowing how fragile these are, it’s amazing there is no damage to the guard. The sheath has the initials “  H.W.M “ and a service number “ 816832 “ from my correspondence with the seller,  Herbert was with the 3rd marines, C company, 1st battalion and saw action in Guadalcanal, Guam & the Mariana islands. I’m very excited to discover more about Herbert and his service! 

Without a doubt that's a Sherman tank.
