Hello Jon, I think I may have finally found an answer to this unique belt. I just picked up this RPPC of a Cuban Cavalry soldier dated 1927. This would be consistent with a M1923 Mounted US belt made with WW1 hardware. I'm not certain but it looks to be a good match. Tim -

Definitely will keep some updates. Hope to help out some who would like to know how the modern basic training is. From what I've noticed, the stores that have been around for a while have transitioned to modern surplus and gun accessories. Another store I visited frequently was Full Metal Jacket across the Potomac in Virginia. It was my Grandfathers favorite, one of mine as well, and now they just sell gun accessories and modern items. They still have a few classic surplus items but their prices tend to be high. Great photos! Love seeing those type of statues out front. Thank you for the great wishes! Hayden -

Edwards is listed as a Private in Company K of the 12th U.S. Infantry, which was an active unit in the U.S. Army during the late 19th century. Military records, including rosters, service details, and potential pension applications, can often be accessed through databases like Fold3, which hosts original U.S. military records, personal documents, and photographs Fold3 . Additional information about the regiment’s history, movements, and engagements can provide context to his service period. The records show he was relocated to San Francisco, I can't find him. -

The canvas sheath is a rigger made one. It was on my belt when I made a jump over Normandy drop zone in Fort Bragg years ago. The knife that was in the sheath decided to make its own jump and parted my company. I've had it since the early 70's.
