Thank you both so much for your information.  I think you have scored a winner!  I think the Concordia buttons made the difference.  At any rate it adds a nice addition to my WW1 people. Illinigander

Picked this up the other day because it looks to be made of brass, not sterling silver, and, from glancing around, it has the look of a pin made by H&H. Others by this maker are very well marked with the maker's mark, sometimes in two locations. There is always a possibility of a similar pin being made by another maker. Any thoughts or opinions are welcome.

George Owens23 April 1871Discharged Co. G. 12th U.S. Inf.West Side, Grave 1323     George Owens — 12th U.S. Infantry, West Side, Grave 1323 Based on the provided burial list for Fort Mohave Cemetery, Mohave County, Arizona, there is no direct match for “George Owens” in the 12th U.S. Infantry records. The list includes several soldiers from the 12th Infantry buried in the cemetery, such as: John Evans – Pvt., Co. G, 12th U.S. Inf., died 22 June 1868, West Side, Grave 1245 William Furlong – Sutler, died 22 Oct 1866, West Side, Grave 1325 Richard Lawlor – Pvt., Co. K, 14th U.S. Inf., died 10 Jan 1876, West Side, Grave 1323 The grave number 1323 is listed for Richard Lawlor (14th Infantry), not the 12th Infantry. This suggests that if George Owens is indeed buried in Grave 1323, he may be listed under the 14th Infantry in the Fort Mohave records, or the grave assignment may have been later adjusted. Historical context: Fort Mohave was a U.S. Army post from 1859 to 1896, housing various regiments including the 12th and 14th U.S. Infantry. Soldiers from these units were often buried in the cemetery, and some remains were later reinterred at the National Cemetery in San Francisco Genealogy Trails. Next steps for verification: Check the National Archives or Fold3 for service records of George Owens, which may confirm his unit, rank, and discharge details National Archives+1. Contact the Mohave County Historical Society or the Fort Mohave Cemetery for any additional burial records or unmarked grave information. If the grave is unmarked, the cemetery may have a memorial or plaque listing the name and service details. If you have more details (such as rank, other names, or service period), you can refine searches on Fold3 or the National Archives to locate George Owens’ official service record and confirm his burial location.
