All that "sloppy" thread on the reverse of what is purported to be a WW2 squadron patch is always an indication of a FAKE. -

The US 1st Division ( Big Red One ) must have been stationed all over Dorset in preparation of the Normandy invasion. Last month mutual friend Charlie B stayed at beautiful Bruges near my place and he gave me this little booklet which describes the Division's 16th Infantry Regiment in West Dorset in the months leading up to June 1944... Interesting read on the Yanks in Britain... -

Good morning all! To B-17 guy, wondering if you still have these wings? Arthur Cason, “Casey” as we all know him, was my wife’s grandfather. He was an amazing man with lots of great stories. He passed in 2005. I’m not sure how his wings ended up for sale on eBay, but was wondering if you’d consider selling them back to the family. We would happy pay a market price to keep them within the family. I’d be happy to privately share proof of the relation to Casey and share some of his stories as well. Thanks! -
