Just realized that I put this in the wrong area

Anyone know what the 741 stands for on this Noncombatant Gas Mask Bag ?Only thing I could find was 741st Tank Battalion but not sure that pertains.

Rectangular bucket is m1851 officers buckle. Not sure about the other. 

1942 was a long time ago.

I was in Coast Guard “A” school in 1989.  Everyday we students had to do a pyro locker and armory inventory. I think we had about 30 of these in the small arms locker, all WWII issue.

Yes this is true that’s one reason there are aircraft displayed at gates and on bases. The tags were stolen before they were shipped to the boneyard, no tag, no aircraft.  I know the HH-52 Guardian at the Coast Guard  base in Elizabeth Cory had its tag stolen and the bone yard wouldn’t take it so they made it a front gate display
