Well dang. Didn't see that one coming. Time to go a new rabbit hole and find out what this is all about.

i am a practicing Christian, with an interest in Chaplain equipment as well. the way i dealt with this was i purchased a mannequin, and put the vestments on it, and stood it up behind two field tables which held all the items for Mass. i am not, nor have i ever been, ordained. if you decide on something similar, this leaves you free to discuss their efforts on our behalf. Chaplain (Cpt) Liteky, of my brigade in vietnam, is a Medal of Honor recipient for the many lives he saved one day in the field. this was the display i set up at our church for veterans day.

Each manufacturer of the M1 bayonet made a very few with a 1943 date.  UFH, however, did things a little different. You can find UFH M1s that were made with left over M1905 blanks.  They would cut down the 16 in. blades to the nominal 10 in. length. They then milled the fuller to its proper depth.  So you end up with a "new made" M1 bayonet dated 1943 that looks, at first glance, like a cut down M1.  Most of the time, one side looks more or less fullered at the tip. Here are some pics.   As to worth, the UFH with a 1943 date does not usually bring much of a premium, since most people think it's a cut down. (which it is and it isn't)  Onieda, UC and PAL M1s can easily go for $300+.  The AFH M1 with a 1943 date was only discovered a couple of years ago and that's the only one known to exist.  I watched the auction on ebay when it was at $600 and couldn't believe my eyes. I think it went for over  $1200.   Marv

TOTE is related to the fraternal organization, "Improved Order of Redmen". Guessing it is part of their regalia and early. 

It's sewn to a Uniform, a private purchase quality example from the looks of it.  I looks like others I have seen. Long time WW1 collector. Only have seen a couple original examples in 30 years. Looks good to me. How-ever I am far from being an expert. 

Romans 10:13, "For whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."   I'm not Christian but I really don't see the logic on why for reenacting you would have to be a certified pastor to reenact a chaplain.    As they say, the Lord runs through all of us and you don't have to be certified in any form of theology to do the Lord's work. And for what my opinions worth a well researched and accurate representation of a chaplain is an extension of the Lord's will, regardless if that person is ordained or not.   My two cents.
