The pistol was manufactured pre WW2, in 1937. If the finish is the original finish, (need better pics) I would call $1200 a pretty low offer.

I received an online offer of $1200 for a 45 Cal M1911. Is the offer fair? The gun is in great condition.  It was my father's who left it to me before he passed in 1996. He was a 1st LT, Infantry. The SN on the barrel is C183663.  Thank you for any help.

Those are leather work gloves. They do not appear to be military based on the lack of stamping. The famous "paratrooper loves" are actually CAVALRY gloves and they have a retaining strap that runs along the inside of the wrist.   This will still display nicely.   Allan
