It's been a while since I've seen a lot of them, and some are not necessarily 'action' or wartime movies, but they're still nice to mention.   They Were Expendable (1945) In Harm's Way (1965) From Here to Eternity (1953) Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo (1944) Twelve O'clock High (1949) Go For Broke! (1951) The Horse Soldiers (1959) Son of the Morning Star (1991) Rough Riders (1997) Wing and a Prayer (1944) I Wanted Wings (1941) Aerial Gunner (1943) Parachute Battalion (1941) Thunder Birds: Soldiers of the Air (1942) A Yank in the RAF (1941) The Long Gray Line (1955) To the Shores of Tripoli (1942) Strategic Air Command (1955) Letters From Iwo Jima (2006) A Bridge Too Far (1977) We Were Soldiers (2002) Come And See (1985) American Guerrilla in the Philippines (1950) The Cavalry Command / The Day of the Trumpet (1958) Los Ultimos de Filipinas (1945) Glory (1989) The Red Badge of Courage (1951) Run Silent, Run Deep (1958) Task Force (1949) Flat Top (1952) Sands of Iwo Jima (1949) Cease Fire! (1953) The Four Feathers (1939) Zulu (1964) Der Große König (1942)   Older than 1930: Wings (1927)

Agree, need much better pictures. That being said, yours is a commercial (1937), not USGI. The holster is probably a private purchase as well. Overall condition looks good, unless reblued. Can't tell about the mags. They should have markings on the toe. All-in-all, I would think the grouping should bring $1700/$1800.

Can't forget the good old 'Nam movies Platoon, The Green Berets, and Apocalypse Now.    And pretty much any John Wayne war movie out there.    Wade

Thanks! Efron was a Shanghai Jeweler which makes sense…..as shanghai was epicenter for the Asiatic fleet activities in China. Chances are very good Efron made these belt buckles for a number of years for this particular boxing event….. I am well familiar with the long serving Black Hawk! Great items

The pistol was manufactured pre WW2, in 1937. If the finish is the original finish, (need better pics) I would call $1200 a pretty low offer.

I received an online offer of $1200 for a 45 Cal M1911. Is the offer fair? The gun is in great condition.  It was my father's who left it to me before he passed in 1996. He was a 1st LT, Infantry. The SN on the barrel is C183663.  Thank you for any help.
