This is an amazing group that would be the star of my collection if i had it. I hope you can find out the details on why the Russians awarded it. The ribbon bars are awesome and would the Legion medal be engraved? -

I do know that early on these army style one piece camouflage jumpers were issued to Raiders since there was a shortage of USMC P42’s. This didn’t last long and I only know of these being used in training in 42/43, usually the pictures are in SoCal, or in Australia. There are a few pictures. But I don’t know why one would have USMC buttons? Maybe they are replaced. -

The helmets they wore then, just like yours manyunkman, had a dress emblem (shiny brass) instead of the dark service emblem. Makes sense when you figure they wear a dress emblem when wearing their white barracks covers. Steve -
