Hello all, A couple years ago, I acquired this knife. Stamped into its handle on one side is "YOUNGSTOWN O.K.S." and on the other side is "ARBEIT.LIEDERTA(?)" - the "(?)" potentially being an additional, faintly-stamped letter. In my searches, I discovered Youngstown in Niagara County, New York held German prisoners of war from North Africa and Europe in 1944-45. I am wrong it was another Lafayette medal . Was blank on reverse .

This is a bit different than the ones I see online for anniversary of that college ? Found her obit she went to a small college in Ohio ? Maybe a merit medal from college ?I originally thought DAR due to the unnamed medal that was at estate sale too ?

Hello all, I recently acquired this studio photograph of what appears to be three cavalry officers (although, the gentleman on the left's service cap exhibits a device I'm not familiar with). The photographer, Kuessner, Hugo E., appears to have been in business as early as 1899 (according to a Chicago directory); however, I am hoping some sleuths may be able to identify a particular piece of kit pin-pointing a more accurate date. I think that Christmas “ peace on earth”  paper is dated from 1992, and so is the envelope, it was sent to the veteran himself. He decided to add it to the frame! It was sent by another 508th vet, THOMAS J. GINTJEE.

What’s up with the envelope? Zip code and a 29cents stamp? And the Christmas card was signed and dated in 1992?

I have a 310th Engineers uniform with an 85th Division SSI. No company letter on the Engineer collar disk, so I don't know if it is 1st or 2nd Battalion of the regiment. The "U.S." disk is very nice with a hallmarked thumbscrew. It has a single Overseas Chevron for up to 11 months overseas service. I can only find "EL. REAES." written on the trousers waistband. Any rosters to check?  

Found this at my local antique shop today, these are the kind of finds I live for.   It’s an original WWII named 508th PIR grouping, all framed. I could not pass it up, I feel it was reasonably priced.   Did a lot of research on the veteran, he dropped on D-Day. This is not something you find at an antique shop! It was also 10% off 👍😁
