. More than any other vehicle in the world's automotive history I have never tired of looking at this 1940's American design icon, a true classic.     Norman D. Landing, Forum Normandy Correspondent, 16  June  2O26.   ..

You are welcome. Hopefully, others on here will be able to provide additional information.   Be advised that my statement about morning reports at NARA being available only up to Dec 44 at present, only refers to these documents being available online.    Also, you can request his Official Military Personnel File at the link below: https://www.archives.gov/veterans/military-service-records

Nice one, kfields!      VMFA-112 (Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 112), also known as the "Cowboys," is a United States Marine Corps Reserve F/A-18 Hornet squadron based at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NAS JRB) in Fort Worth, Texas.

It sure looks good, but as others have pointed out some of the fakes are really convincing.  Sometimes it comes down to measuring it with a micrometer to see if the dimensions match known originals.  Please keep us posted on what you learn!

. Carentan wartime vehicle parade Sunday 07 June 2026   About a hundred vehicles gathered to take part in a vehicle parade around the streets of Carentan and park in the central square to allow people to see the vehicles close up. I transported three ladies that did the knitting and covering of the full size wooden Jeep we made for the Longest Yarn exhibition.  The lady in the front who did most of the knitting had never actually ridden in a Jeep before.    Once again I failed to get photos of all the people crowding the streets and the main square, I was busy towing a stalled Jeep into the main square and trying to change the condenser and points for the owner.            Norman D. Complete 1.1" rounds are uncommon. Unfortunately your projectile is missing the driving band. What is it worth? Depends if you can find a WW2 ordnance collector wanting a low grade one to fill a hole in his collection. I have seen the brass casing go for about $35-50. If complete with projectile in good condition $125-150? Just an educated guess.
