Hello can you take a look and determine if this patch is good or bad. Thanks for looking.

May I suggest going to the local library and read what was said at the time in the local news paper. If you find mishaps order the reports. If local old timers are still around, talk to them. You could get lucky and find one who worked as a contract civilian. The big story is good but the human story adds to it. If you read my post on Connor Field the news paper accounts told the lost story.   https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Courtland_Army_Airfield   A quick read on this base tells me you have plenty of information to be mined. When I did research on MCAS El Toro I found it at the Ziggurat in Laguna Beach Ca. They had everything on that base from how they selected it. Who owned at property and how much they paid. All the documents. See who holds those papers. Check with the National Archives first.

The 90th was on occupation duty until November of 1945 which could have necessitated a glossy repaint of the officer's combat helmet.    Also, it's important to remember that just because a helmet doesn't look "right" for one period of time doesn't mean it's bad.  The 90th Division was reactivated in 1947 as part of the organized reserve corps.  I am not familiar enough with the time period to know whether its correct but this could be from that period as well.     Kyle

Hello,   As the title says, I’m trying to locate, if it even exists, a roster or list of US recipients of the Tunisian Order of Glory in relation to a ribbon bar I’ve recently added.     The research I’ve done so far to track one down has shown sparse results, with only two mentioned names- General Eisenhower and LTC Albert Dewey (it is not attributed to Ike by default and the latter was an almost exact match except the bar I acquired shows WWI service, and Dewey was born in 1916).    if anyone knows where I could find a website or source, it would be super helpful!  I’ve attached a picture of the ribbon bar in question at the bottom of this post.    The foreign awards from left to right:   French Legion of Honor chevalier  French Croix de Guerre Tunisian Order of Glory/Order of Nicham-el-Oftikhar Officer grade  Romanian King Carol I Centenary Medal

If it came out of the wood work I believe it belonged to the guy and isn’t a put together, but very likely not his “combat” helmet. Still an AWSOME helmet and IDing it would be great.

The paint looks off, like way off, it looks glossy and the insignia has nearly no wear, or selective wear. It may be a post war ceremonial type helmet, or a repaint.
