You have a wonderful collection and look forward to seeing more please. Need to mention this, I directed an Art Gallery in Boston in the 1990's, so I speak from a place of knowledge about this. Fluorescent lighting is the absolute worst for preserving what you collect. This type of light emits a high amounts of UV Light and will contribute to fading every paper and cloth item you have exposed to the overhead lights I am seeing in your display room. -

No problem. You can get almost all of those on Amazon. The only one that will be a bit difficult to get is grunt gear, that one gets pretty pricey. All the other ones are usually under $100. Good luck on your hunt. I will check to see if I have anything extra. Otherwise I would put a wanted post, I’m sure plenty of members have an extra or two or something useful -

C5F is possibly the US Navy abbreviation for the United States 5th Fleet which I think is based in the Persian Gulf and Arabian Sea but I have no other information about what it might be. -

There was a 2nd Lt Leroy F. Gerard serving as the adjutant for the 5th Bn 164th DB during Nov 1918 at Camp Funston, KS; not sure if it’s the former owner of your uniform, as this man was infantry, at least during this time. Source: FOLD3 Also found this on Ancestry: Looks like he was enlisted, then an officer. Again, not sure if it’s the same officer as per the uniform. -

I thought the same thing, but the 1st seemed odd. Could it be 1st place at a Rod & Gun event? -

I admittedly don't have any yet as most of my knowledge has come from online research and forums/discussions. I appreciate your advice and am already finding places to get the resources you suggested. Thanks! -

thank you all who are in favor and have opposition toward the bag. I appreciate all the comments on whether real or not, having a good discussion is always great. I have faith in the item personally. For all the reasons explained above I believe it is good. especially with him being attached to this unit so late in the war to me that explains the clear paint. it sitting in a garage (in California, so mostly dry) for years on end and being covered in a fairly nice and non volatile climate. and not really being touched it makes it solid for me. there's definetly wear on it, it's just not beat to a pulp. it probably wasn't used for long and mostly stored and not being carried from place to place. definetly some good points made, but with it being divided It is a little dissapointing everyones so divided. either way, thanks all for the input.
