Not much common and ordinary there.  Just about every one is unique or special.  Nice collection Sir!   Lance

Grouping to the Lehman brothers, William "Bill" Lehman and Roy F. Lehman Jr. William was with the 440th Troop Carrier Group as an engine mechanic, and Roy was a sharpshooter with the 310th Infantry Regiment Constabulary in the occupation. There are tons of interesting and historical items in the group, my favorite has to be Williams ike jacket or the German flag Roy brought back. William stated that the flag was traded for by Roy with a pack of smokes. This group was bought from William by a fellow collector in the area who was kind enough to pass these items on to me as the new caretaker.

I agree with Uniform of the Day that it is an artistic version of a standard shield

I just saw this news, or I would have posted sooner.   While I never knew him in person, I recall reading and interacting with him and his posts here and previous forums. He was sort of a 'regular' you could count on to post something even if it was a dry spell for a lot of other collectors.  Condolences to his family and son, RIP.  Regards,  RC

Hi everyone!   I live in Novosibirsk (formerly Novo-Nikolaevsk) and am interested in local history. This photograph is well-known among local local history experts; however, most people focus only on the market square. Yet, the figure in the center of the composition is clearly a soldier of the American Expeditionary Force, Siberia. The photo was taken in the central square of Novo-Nikolaevsk, which is now named after Lenin.   The total contingent in Russia numbered fewer than 10,000 men. The section of the railway from Irkutsk to Omsk was guarded by far fewer troops. I believe there is a chance to identify him by name.   Please share your thoughts with me. Perhaps you have encountered this photograph before and can provide information regarding where the original is archived.
