Yes it is and has been so for 20 years now. Things change. Was authorized when the ACU was introduced in 2006. Officer rank and branch was removed from the collars. -

I really doubt that the tab was for the 10th Army. The unit was deactivated in October 1945, well before any tabs like this would have come into use. Now if there was photo evidence, I would think otherwise. It very well could have been used on the 8th Army during its Japan occupation days before the Korean War..... Just my 2 cents. -Ski -

Remember that German made patches aren't really "greenback" patches. Greenbacks refer to WWII era US made patches. -Ski
