The pictures are vague, they do not provide much if any detail.  the information that there are no markings on the machete I consider to be a "red flag".   Myself, I would walk away.  There are going to be more opportunities to obtain a WW2 machete.  I'de use the time between now and then to get more familiar with what to look for in a WW2 machete. The search engine here is one of the places to start.  People who know a lot more than I do have written a lot about this subject.  The search engine is free!  That's not something we can say about learning about these things through trail and error.

From a different thread in this section, USS Missouri, Officer/CPO, in Grays, watching/Supervising movement of OS2U Kingfisher Scout plane. I think it’s an Officer, as he’s standing there with his hands on his hips and farther up in the photo is a CPO ( dungarees and khaki cap) actually directing.

You probably have a Camillus that was not prepped for long term storage. Sounds like original finish.  Does the cutting edge have the "line of white", or what is the original factory edge?  SKIP

Hi, I'm steadily building up my collection of WWII Airborne cap badges but I'm noticing reference to 'poplin' on dealer's sites?  Is this just another term for twill or is it a manufacturer like Gemesco for instance...I'm definitely confused, any help would be brilliant.  Thanks Barry.

What a great piece of history that was fortunately rediscovered. Thanks for sharing. Ken
