To reiterate: my question was clearly comprehensive, as was the accompanying explanation.   If you find it vague and feel the need to ask about specific service branches or timeframes—well, that wasn't the point of my question; I wasn't asking for an interpretation limited to a specific branch or period.   When I ask what flight suits were worn throughout the entire Vietnam War, the question is deliberately phrased to encompass all service branches and the full duration of the conflict. That is unambiguous.   However, anyone who wishes to answer regarding only a specific branch or a limited timeframe—even though I clearly requested comprehensive information covering the entire war—is welcome to share whatever specific, limited knowledge they have! (Please, no speculation; that’s of no use to me and I can do that myself—I really just need concrete facts.) Perhaps someone else will then step in—since I politely asked the experts—to provide the correct answers for the missing parts, and to understand what it means when I state twice that I am seeking information on *all* suits worn throughout the *entire* Vietnam War.   Consequently, this clearly includes the additional, separate question: WHEN and WHY was the M64 jacket worn (across the entire war and all service branches, etc.) when pilots typically wore coveralls or flight suits? Let me clarify the question again: the "WHEN" and "WHY" apply to *everything* and the *entire* period. I do not need information limited to a specific time, service branch, or mission type. Simply put: WHEN was WHAT worn, and WHY—if it wasn't a coverall or flight suit?   I realize such an extensive question cannot be answered in a single sentence. That is precisely why I am addressing the experts—who can certainly provide more than a standard one-sentence reply—and hoping for assistance from those able to offer detailed information regarding specific timeframes! I think my specific questions, as well as the reason and scope, should now be clear to all forum members.   Sorry, but I use a translation program, and I notice every time that the sentences are translated slightly differently, sometimes causing the actual meaning and emphasis to be lost.

A couple of months ago I sent a PM about an item from his collection for sale (wondering why he wasn’t selling it) and found out about Andy’s death. We served together at Special Operations Command, Joint Forces Command (SOCJFCOM) right after 9-11. He was an incredible warrior, comrade, fellow collector, and friend. His death hit hard; and reinforced to me what I have already learned through several similar losses. Keep in touch with people who matter and never take tomorrow for granted. Fair winds and following seas Andy; my heart is heavy with your loss.

Your question IS vague, relative to @phantomfixer wanting to provide detail.     What specific branch of service are you inquiring about - Army, Navy, etc, as they developed and wore different suits.   Also, are you asking about early, mid, or late war, as that can have an impact as well.  

Thanks for your reply. My question was actually very direct and clear—what did you find vague about it? As I specified, I was asking about the Vietnam War—meaning the entire duration of the conflict—and specifically about the gear worn in Vietnam. I also wanted to know why some helicopter pilots didn't wear flight suits, but instead wore the M64 Tropical Combat Jacket. That’s a clear question, too. I own a K-2B coverall from 1965, so there doesn't seem to be a chronological reason why pilots would have worn that suit at one point and the M64 Tropical Combat Jacket (which was introduced just shortly before) at another. That is what I was hoping to find out here.

US Army Spanish Campaign No. 1702 was issued tp 1st Sgt. Albert Monson on March 12, 1908. I did a search trying to find out more about CAPT Walter A. Johnson, O-472792 325 GIR and discovered that someone from the forum had previously posted about finding something of his in a thrift shop.  For some reason, I could not open or find the thread.  Here is a screenshot of what the search produced.  Any help is appreciated.  I will also post in the individual research section.
