Hello, Tom. Thanks for your service and welcome home, GI. I was in III Corps the same time as you also, but a grunt with the First Infantry Division.

Great grouping. Jump wings on his dress jacket would have had all the senior officers in a huff. What have been great to see!

Stefan- I saw one of these years ago, made from an M3 trench knife.  What do you mean by the "shaft" ?  Are you talking about the "tang" that runs through the handle. Don't recall  the term of shaft before.  Please clarify. Thanks.  SKIP

Yes, most likely a replacement. This is pretty common with Vietnam War medals (apparently a lot of medals had gotten lost/ discarded).   Fred

. Medal of Honor winner - Charles DeGlopper   Several years ago I made a post about  Charles DeGlopper winning the Medal of Honor during the battle of the bridge at La Fiere just outside Ste Mere Eglise.  Since then an inscribed marble stone has been erected featuring Charles DeGlopper with a BAR he used during this battle, alongside some extra sign-board details also added.           Norman D. Love the artwork. Art back then was so "down home." guessing rural areas were more populated. That's great, love it.

Tell your wife its an investment much like investing in art. It's a hard asset that can be enjoyed much like art.

Price:$1000 shipped  The first book has some really nice writing in- and it tells where the solider was located when he bought the pocket size dictionary- later on the other book was bought- it is a medical book- this person later became a doctor. He was a doctor in the palmyra Annville Pennsylvania area. See the last pictures of some history on him. We are from Pennsylvania and Palmyra and know of the name of this person via our historical records and knowledge.  Please feel free to ask any questions and more photos  Super cool memorabilia
