I'm bummed to see another childhood sitcom star of the 1960s (not many left now), Ronnie Schell, 94, passed away today (6/12/2026) at UCLA medical center. By all accounts, the amiable, easy going and honest, "Duke", Gomer's Quonset hut platoon buddy, who always tried to keep him out of trouble with Sgt, Carter, was a mirror-image of the real life, good guy, Ronnie Schell. A native of Richmond, CA, near San Francisco, Ronnie enlisted in the Air Force after high school, and served four years at Perrin AFB, Sherman, TX, during the Korean War and was discharged Airman 1/c. Apparently while in the Air Force, he got bitten by the entertainer bug. A graduate of San Francisco State in 1958, he started out as a comedian in San Francisco comedy clubs and made an appearance on Groucho Marx's quiz show, "You Bet Your Life" in 1959. He moved south to L.A. in 1962 and got his big break in 1964 when he was cast for "Gomer Pyle". He had many other sitcom credits, including "That Girl", "The Andy Griffith Show” and “The Patty Duke Show,” and in later years “The Love Boat,” “Mork & Mindy,” “Saved by the Bell,” “The Golden Girls,” and “Yes, Dear.” He appeared in a couple dozen movies, notably “The Shaggy D.A.,” “Love at First Bite” and “Jetsons: The Movie.” and also did a lot of voiceover work. A true patriot, he posted Memorial Day and Veterans Day tributes recently on Facebook. Rest in Peace, Ronnie Schell and condolences to your family, wife, two sons and grandkids. I've little doubt there's a place in heaven for Ronnie Schell. https://apnews.com/article/ronnie-schell-dies-gomer-pyle-d1b68d271b784cfd5bb06763a3da06ad https://www.facebook.com/therealronnieschell/posts/1650522669563401/ https://www.facebook.com/therealronnieschell/posts/1218541512761521/ -

What are your thoughts on these? Is the m1 rigger modified? The m1 looks like an 82nd one I have seen in a museum before, also notice the amount of times the make mark was stamped. Thanks for the help. -

Amazing map, I can even see the street in District 2 where the hotel is that I stayed in when I visited Vietnam last year 😮 If you compare it wit Google Maps it's obvious the city has grown in size quite a lot.
