siege1863 Posted June 7, 2010 Share #1 Posted June 7, 2010 Just acquired a WWI photo album (123 images) belonging to a family from Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey. The two sons were in the Navy, one known to have been in the Naval Reserve Force. The majority of the photos are of local men who enlisted in the service. All are in their uniforms. Also included is a series of sixteen photos of the Red Cross workers of Hasbrouck Heights, taken in April and May 1918. Posted below are some of the ladies. It is interesting to see the variety in styling of the dresses and headwear, placement of pins and red crosses, and their sizes. Very first pic - Nurse uniform Uniform info from March 21,1917 Nursing Service Information: Unless otherwise specified, Red Cross Nurses, when called upon for active service under the Red Cross, will be allowed to wear a white uniform.....
