women air crew ?

Picked up these the other day. The AAF Air crew member physical record card is in the name of Miss Helen Eaton. My first thought was flight nurse but the "Miss" makes me think civilian. Not sure if it is the same woman in the second photo, she is wearing a British field service cap [not a garrison cap]. on the back it says Milan Airport.

ANY THOUGHTS ?

During WWII, a lot of women flew cargo planes to allow more men to fly fighters. Looks like you may have found one of those women.

The date on the card is 19 Jul 46, and it says she was a tech rep to test aeronatic instruments. The WASPs were disbanded in Dec 1944.

 

Most photos of male tech reps show them wearing military uniforms w/ tech rep insignia which closely resembled standard military insignia. She appears to be similarly attired.

In the second photo, her uniform (khakis) appears to be British/Commonwealth, not U.S. The badge could be Air Ferry Command rather than straight RAF/RCAF.
