patches Posted January 10 Author Share #4 Posted January 10 Well that's the one, thought the one in the photo's colors seem different, light colored prop, Pine Trees? Odd item was up for sale without a unit ID right.
ocsfollowme Posted January 10 Share #5 Posted January 10 So many of these type squadron patches do not have IDs and most tend to be some sort of obscure base unit.
Castle_Keep Posted January 10 Share #6 Posted January 10 The patch is probably attributed to the Alaska Air Depot, 1945-46.
ocsfollowme Posted January 10 Share #7 Posted January 10 Possibly, I never looked for a museum when I was on elmendorf a handful of times. They had a better firearms selection than wainwright.

patches Posted January 11 Author Share #11 Posted January 11 Thanks to all. Well here's the whole portrait, gives unit as 9th Air Force 365th Fighter Group., but clearly now this is a pre overseas portrait if 9th AF is correct, as the patch we know now is not for the 365th Fighter Group. . Got no hits for where the 41st Air Base Squadron was stationed though.
