manayunkman Posted October 26, 2023 Share #1 Posted October 26, 2023 I’m usually not a trunk buyer because they take up so much room when you vehicle is already full but I found a way. This trunk came from the vets daughter in law. Note the rising sun underneath the eagle.
Basic Rifleman Posted October 26, 2023 Share #2 Posted October 26, 2023 Wow. Love it! Do you have anything on this Marines service history?
manayunkman Posted October 26, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted October 26, 2023 The daughter in law had nothing to ad unfortunately and I haven’t had the time to look into it. Thank you for your kind remarks.

manayunkman Posted October 26, 2023 Author Share #5 Posted October 26, 2023 Is he from Michigan?
Basic Rifleman Posted October 26, 2023 Share #6 Posted October 26, 2023 I believe he was from Maine, but lived in Detroit, Michigan in the 1940's (and perhaps beyond) according to his WWII draft registration card. Looks like he served from 1919 to at least 1929. I don't see any record of any WWII service; he would have been 40 in 1942, and his son (of the same name) would have been 10 the same year. By the looks of his trunk he saw Asian service at some point...
