Chris Posted September 4, 2023 Share #1 Posted September 4, 2023 O kust acquired this today, from Littell's nephew, who is 60. Littell said he knows very little about his uncle. But he had been told by family that Littell went overseas at about 18 years of age and, shortly thereafter, was reported as MIA. And he is still listed as MIA. The nephew was guessing that his uncle was lost in WWII, but it could have been the Korean War. I have received a lead on a family member and am trying to make contact. But, there is indeed a Thomas E. Littell, from Ohio, who was MIA in Korea, and remains missing. His name was found amonst a roster of names on a jail wall in Korea. It is believed that POWs were detained their by Chinese forces before being marched north to captivity. He served with the 5th Cav, 1st Cav Div. A synopsis can be found on the internet. I will try to obtain more specifics, but I first wanted to get confirmation that all looks good with this medal (the engraving), etc. Thank you. Chris Posted September 4, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted September 4, 2023 Thanks. I'm quite certain that that's the right fellow. He was from Franklin, OH. Co. L, 3/5 Reg., 1st Cav Div. MIA on 2/15/1951.
