In my research I have found that this DUI is for the 7th Support Battalion and there are many for sale online, but this one is Hallmarked Sterling on the back, it's the only marking on it. I don't know when the US Army discontinued sterling DUI's. Any help with a date would be appreciated.

It's from early WWII we would guess, when unit, a unit first of the 6th Division, then of the 7th Division, was the 7th Quartermaster Regiment, later the 7th Quartermaster Battalion. Battalion downgraded to Company size during the war January 1943, so this DI would be one made in the early 40s we should think, made when the unit was still Color Bearing.  Not sure when Unit Crest comes out, sometime in the 20s or 30s.
