It is the Korean Capital Mechanized Infantry Division  that fought in both the Korean and Vietnam War. Also known as the Fierce Tiger Division. The patch you show looks like it could be Japanese made. Very well trained very good fighters.

It’s very similar to a ROK Army patch worn in Vietnam?

It is not a Vietnamese unit patch here is a camp strike force patch.
